My relationship with The Chariot

The Chariot was a card that I was not really drawn to at first, I was like "oh here’s this aggressive card charging in, serious, a warrior, going to conquer some obstacle... where the heck is he even going?" - I don’t want to be like that (I'd say to myself).

The chariot card actually made me stop and think and look back and think ‘why is this my card? I’m going to have to find some sort of common ground. Why don’t I like it at first glance?’ And the reason is because it made me uncomfortable. The energy I felt when looking at this card made me just want to move on to the next one when I was first learning. I felt it was kind of harsh, and I don't really know what was provoking these strong feelings. It made me uncomfortable to have to face the choices I’ve needed to make.

From pretty early on in my life, I have felt that I always have two places I'm needed, always being drawn to different sides of the family, different friends, lifestyles, hobbies, two trains of thought, different people on different sides having opinions about everything I was doing, knowing what was best, being prodded about my opinion, and always being burdened by making a solid choice fast, which was required of me at the time was a bit scary. I’ve more than often found myself not ever wanting to take sides, find a compromise somehow, Or to keep my side to myself.

And I’ve spent a long time living my life feeling that way.

But with time and as I continue to work with my cards, especially with the Chariot, I know now, that there are so many other meanings besides courageously moving forward; it can represent choices, always being pulled in different directions, Immersed in emotion and passion trying to make the best choice, even travel or a spontaneous opportunity!

Which, looking back at my life, that description fits more accurately.

Side story: I have two dogs (featured below), I’ve had them since before I started working with tarot and when I found out the Chariot was one of my birth cards I laughed, realizing Marzi and Effy totally looked like the black and white horses or sphinxes, or whatever symbolism your deck has. But I thought that was pretty sweet connection to have with the Chariot, that I will definietly never be done learning about.
